Hello Friends,

After the “low and slow” month of December, January and February zoomed in bringing wonderful opportunities for ministry, networking and future ministry opportunities.

I particularly enjoyed speaking at the Asia Educational Resource Consortium. Each January, members of fifty plus organizations gather to talk about the educational, spiritual and emotional needs of their children. The Family Education Conference focuses on workers in far-flung places with limited resources. Consequently, the audience was comprised of folks from Afghanistan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Tibet, Vietnam, China, Thailand and Laos. What a delight to share some thoughts from the Word and then to sit with ten of those

families, listening to their story; their needs and fears for their kids. I walked away deeply grateful for the hard things God has brought to us – and even more grateful for the way He leads all of us through.

Close on the heels of the AERC conference, David participated in ELIC’s annual conference. When this group comes to town they fill an entire hotel! David’s role is to basically mentor and chaplain teams from Laos and Cambodia. Many meetings later, some things remain to be resolved between a few team members so David will most likely need to return sometime in March. How wonderful for him though, to sit in on the worship sessions and teaching time. Michael Card was the speaker and David said that after hearing Michael teach the book of John, he wondered if he had read it ever before. We don’t get much teaching like that and it was like soothing oil to his soul.
No sooner did ELIC responsibilities end, a dear man and woman arrived from Myanmar for premarital counseling! He’s from Australia and she’s from Norway. They’ve met ‘in the middle’ and are trying to figure out where to marry…his place or hers? David met with them for five days, they stayed here in our little guesthouse and we all had a great time.
Everyone’s gone home, and we are in clean up mode! All the conferences are great, but after they’re done, we must come back and clean out inboxes, catch up on local life and retake the pulse of our kids and school events. It’s been a busy time but very, very good.

Summer Plans for Prayer

This summer we would like to visit our staff in Europe and attend a “Refresh” conference for our own rejuvenation and rest. In order to do this, we are cashing in our Frequent Flier miles to handle the plane tickets but we are short 50,000 miles with Sky Team (Delta’s group). If you have Delta miles you could donate, would you prayerfully consider gifting us with some miles? Any miles donated take away from the cost of buying miles. We could use this help. MILES NEEDED BY FEBRUARY 16!!!! Another way to help is to contribute toward the purchase of the miles – total cost $1350.

Thank you so much for continuing with us. We are so glad for you. Many days in the month I think of stories I want to share, wonderful things God has done, or prayer needs that come to mind. I’m not so good at getting these thoughts from my head to email! But we’re updating and changing some things in order to convey to you the wonders and deep goodness of all God is doing. Watch your mail in the next days for news bulletins, stories and ways to pray for us. Our task right now is to improve our communications with YOU!

Love, Jeanni
